United Civil Group is seeking a detail-oriented and proactiveAccounts Officerto join our finance team.
This is a hands-on role responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll processing, reconciliations, and general finance administration, supporting the smooth day-to-day financial operations of our civil construction business.
Based in Pimpama, Queensland, this full-time position is ideal for someone who takes pride in accuracy, enjoys working across a variety of accounting functions, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced project environment.
What you'll be doing
ManagingAccounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
Processing supplier invoices, subcontractor invoices and payment claims, ensuring accuracy and timely processing
Following up outstanding customer payments and maintaining effective debtor management
Maintaining accurate customer, supplier and subcontractor accounts
Processing and reconciling supplier and subcontractor invoices against purchase orders, delivery dockets and supporting documentation
Reconciling bank accounts, credit cards and general ledger accounts
Processing payroll, including:
Weekly timesheets
PAYG withholding and superannuation
Award and employment compliance
Managing leave balances and payroll enquiries
Assisting with project-related financial administration and cost tracking
Assisting with month-end and year-end financial close
Preparing and maintaining monthly financial reports and management information
Maintaining accurate financial records, registers and employee files
Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of project and subcontractor documentation
Identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems and internal controls
Providing excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders
Supporting the Finance Manager with ad-hoc accounting tasks, reporting and projects
What we're looking for
Proven experience as anAccounts Officer, Accounts Administrator or similar role
Experience acrossAP, AR, reconciliations and payroll processing
Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
Good understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
Proficient inXero and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related field is highly desirable
Experience incivil construction, construction, infrastructure or project-based businessesis advantageous but not essential
