As our business continues to grow, we are seeking a motivated and experiencedRetail Managerto join our team and contribute to our ongoing success.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct daily operations, executive decision-making, and P&L; performance for the Watheroo Rural Traders branch to maximize efficiency and sustainable business profitability.
Lead agribusiness engagement strategies and spearheads high-value trade contract negotiations with key agricultural stakeholders to maximize revenue streams.
Manage comprehensive inventory control, strategic procurement forecasting, and the critical logistical execution of direct, on-farm product deliveries.
Conducts regular on-farm field visits to inspect crop health, analyze growing conditions, and collect soil samples to deliver highly accurate, tailored diagnostic advice for crop protection and yield optimization.
Provide expert in-store and in-field technical counsel on agricultural inputs while serving as the primary conduit to professional agronomy consultants for specialized support.
Execute advanced project management and market analysis, tracking competitor pricing and regional agribusiness trends to maintain a distinct competitive advantage.
Enforce absolute compliance with strict health, safety, and environmental regulations across both the retail workplace and complex off-site farm logistics.
Drive targeted regional marketing campaigns and community engagement initiatives tailored specifically to the local farming sector to expand market share.
Govern the comprehensive branch budget, analyzing financial reports and implementing rigorous cost-control measures to optimize the bottom line.
Manage staff performance and implements rigorous training programs focused on sophisticated agronomic product knowledge and premium service standards.
Resolve high-stakes client grievances and supply chain bottlenecks regarding high-value rural products to preserve vital long-term trust.
To be considered for this position, you will need to demonstrate:Diploma in Retail Management or a related business qualification.
Minimum of 3 years experience in retail leadership in agriculture supplies and services, rural trade operations and agricultural business management.
Excellent communication skills, teamwork, customer centric approach and the ability to grow the business independently.
Current forklift and Agsafe certificates
Current unrestricted HR and C vehicle licence essential
SAP experience - 2 years at least
Current First Aid Certificate
