About the Position
The Maintenance and Grounds Officer – Tourist Parks is responsible for the daily maintenance of Council's Tourist Park's gardens, lawns, and pathways daily in accordance with established policies.
Duties will also include the maintenance of plant, buildings, equipment and the park's overall features and aesthetic appearance.
The Maintenance and Grounds Officer will be directly responsible to the Coordinator Golf and Tourist Parks.
About You
You're a practical, hands-on person who enjoys keeping grounds, buildings and facilities looking their best.
You take pride in your work, can work independently, and have a knack for identifying and fixing maintenance issues before they become bigger problems.
You have experience with general maintenance, groundskeeping, gardening, irrigation systems, and the safe use of tools and equipment.
You're organised, safety-focused, and can prioritise tasks to ensure guest needs are responded to promptly.
You communicate well with both guests and colleagues, enjoy working as part of a team, and are committed to providing a clean, safe and welcoming environment for everyone who visits the park
Key Selection Criteria:
Demonstrated experience in general maintenance, building repairs, grounds and garden maintenance, horticulture, or a related trade.
Knowledge of the safe operation and maintenance of small plant and equipment, including mowers, brush cutters, hedge trimmers and similar machinery.
Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and consistently follow organisational policies, procedures and safe work practices.
Demonstrated initiative, sound problem-solving skills, and the ability to take responsibility and accountability for completing tasks to a high standard.
Well-developed customer service and interpersonal skills,



with the ability to communicate effectively with guests, contractors and team members.
A relevant trade qualification or Certificate III in a related discipline (such as Horticulture, Painting, Electrical or similar) is desirable.
