About The Role
As a CBRE Data Center Technician,you will play a crucial role in maintaining the operational integrity of our critical infrastructure.
You will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and corrective repairs within a data center operation, ensuring the seamless operation of critical systems.
Oversight of electrical and mechanical systems, including but not limited to: Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, generators, chillers, Electrical Distribution, HVAC systems, Building Management Systems (BMS) systems,



and CMMS Work Dispatching.
This position is part of the Critical and Technical Services job function, focusing on delivering technical maintenance services in high-stakes client environments.
What You'll Do
Conduct daily site inspections of all Mechanical & Engineering systems and technical equipment, including servicing and maintenance tasks.
Ensure that the site's environmental conditions are conducive to a safe and efficient work environment.
Respond promptly to Building Management System alarms and perform emergency repairs as necessary.
Collaborate with third-party vendors to ensure compliance with company-developed processes, procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations.
Notify management if subcontractor performance does not meet the requirements outlined in the Master Service Agreement.
Execute planned preventative maintenance (PM) and reactive maintenance on all equipment.
Monitor the Building Management System for running and alarm conditions, addressing HVAC-related client issues.
Perform building walkthroughs, taking meter readings from UPS, PDUs, and utilities.
Address facility and plant faults and defects with effective solutions.
Complete assigned work following established processes and procedures, adhering to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
Conduct routine quality checks to maintain comprehensive maintenance records.
Complete all required training to ensure the successful completion of job-related responsibilities.
Utilise existing procedures to solve straightforward problems, with limited discretion.
Impact through clearly defined duties, methods, and tasks are described in detail.
Deliver results by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.
Essential
What You'll need:




Must understand all the associated safety code related requirements relative to providing the service.
Experience with Health & Safety Risk Assessments and Control Measures
Experience of maintaining critical & temperature control conditioned environments
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in maintaining critical and temperature controlled environments is required
Detailed understanding and experience of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment, including Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Fuel Systems, Switchgear, UPS systems, Battery banks, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, Air handling units, chilled water systems, Fire Alarm systems, and Fire Suppression systems (pre-action sprinklers).
Prior exposure to maintenance scheduling and subcontractor management and supervision
Robust understanding of ticketing or workflow management systems and tools
Experience of managing escalation and emergency issues
NSW Electrical License is required.
Minimum Certificate III Electrotechnology Electrician
Good building services knowledge
Good Customer relationship skills
Working knowledge of "Permit to work" systems
Understand and interpret technical drawings / processes
Experience of CMMS and BMS systems
