The Opportunity
As aToolmaker, you'll play a critical role in supporting production through the manufacture, maintenance, repair, and modification of precision tooling, jigs, fixtures, and production equipment.
Working within our advanced manufacturing environment, you'll collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to ensure tooling is operating efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled tradesperson who enjoys precision work, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Toolmaking & Maintenance
Manufacture, assemble, modify, and repair tooling, jigs, fixtures, and production equipment
Conduct preventative and breakdown maintenance on tooling and associated equipment
Troubleshoot tooling issues and implement effective solutions
Ensure tooling is maintained to meet production and quality requirements
Machining & Fabrication
Operate manual mills, lathes, surface grinders, and other workshop equipment
Manufacture components to engineering drawings and specifications
Perform fitting, assembly, and testing of tooling and fixtures
Maintain high levels of workmanship and precision
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve tooling performance and manufacturing processes
Assist with tooling design improvements and new tool development
Work collaboratively with engineering and production teams to support operational efficiency
Compliance & WHS
Follow all workplace health and safety policies and procedures
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment
Participate in toolbox talks and safety initiatives
Your Skills & Experience
Trade qualification as a Toolmaker, Fitter & Turner, or equivalent
Strong experience working with precision tooling and manufacturing equipment
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
Experience operating manual machining equipment
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
CNC machining experience is advantageous
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
