About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Lead Civil Site Representative to provide principal-side oversight of civil construction activities on a major renewable energy and infrastructure project.
This site-based position will be responsible for overseeing contractor performance, construction quality, safety outcomes, programme compliance, and interface management across multiple project work fronts.
The successful candidate will act as the primary civil representative on site, working closely with EPC contractors, construction teams, technical specialists, and client stakeholders to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contractual, technical, and regulatory requirements.
The role requires solid leadership capability, excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and extensive hands-on experience supervising large-scale civil construction works in complex project environments.
Responsibilities
Act as the Lead Site Representative for civil works and provide overall coordination and supervision of site-based oversight personnel.
Support workforce wellbeing initiatives, fatigue management requirements, and safe working practices across the project.
Serve as the primary in office interface with contractors and key project stakeholders.
Provide oversight of health, safety, environmental, sustainability, security, quality, programme, and contractual compliance activities.
Monitor and manage interfaces between civil, transmission, substation, electrical, and other construction work packages.
Support commercial, certification, and project delivery activities in coordination with project teams.
Identify, manage, and escalate significant project risks, issues, and non-conformances in a timely and structured manner.
Ensure consistency and accuracy of site reporting, inspection records, quality documentation, and project evidence.
Oversee civil construction activities including site establishment, worker accommodation facilities, temporary works, earthworks, access roads, drainage systems, hardstands, foundations, cable trenching, transmission infrastructure, substation infrastructure, operations and maintenance facilities, meteorological monitoring infrastructure, and rehabilitation works.




Maintain detailed site diaries recording construction activities, workforce resources, plant utilisation, weather conditions, deliveries, visitors, and contractor operations.
Maintain comprehensive photographic records of construction progress, including drone imagery where applicable.
Review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and identify relevant hold points and witness points.
Conduct site inspections and quality assessments to verify compliance with approved management plans, specifications, drawings, standards, methodologies, supplier requirements, and project procedures.
Manage and maintain construction issues, defect registers, punch lists, and completion tracking systems.
Review contractor reports, look-ahead schedules, progress updates, construction programmes, and sequencing activities.
Prepare accurate site reports, meeting records, inspection documentation, and detailed meeting minutes.
Support engagement with landowners, local communities, Indigenous stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and other project stakeholders where required.
Participate in pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, audits, inspections, and key project events.
Support project commissioning, certification, handover, and close-out activities.
Requirements
Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience in civil construction, site supervision, construction management, owner's engineering, or principal-side project delivery roles.
Proven experience delivering large-scale renewable energy, transmission, infrastructure, mining, resources, or major construction projects.
Strong practical knowledge of earthworks, roads, drainage, hardstands, foundations, cable trenching, temporary works, sediment and erosion controls, site establishment, and rehabilitation activities.
Sound understanding of construction quality systems, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), hold points, witness points, defect management processes, site inspections, and quality assurance requirements.
Experience reviewing contractor schedules,



look-ahead plans, progress reports, productivity metrics, and construction sequencing activities.
Previous experience working within EPC and Design & Construct delivery environments.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with contractors, consultants, technical specialists, client representatives, and project leadership teams.
Excellent written communication skills with experience preparing site diaries, inspection reports, meeting minutes, risk escalations, and progress reports.
Robust commitment to safety leadership and fostering a collaborative site culture.
Current Australian Driver's Licence.
Construction Industry White Card.
Desirable Experience
Previous wind farm Balance of Plant (BoP) civil construction experience.
Prior experience as an Owner's Representative, Principal's Representative, Superintendent's Representative, Construction Manager, Senior Site Engineer, or Civil Site Lead.
Experience delivering projects in remote or regional locations.
Exposure to transmission line civil works, substation civil infrastructure, operations and maintenance facilities, temporary works, and workforce accommodation infrastructure.
Experience working alongside renewable energy developers, EPC contractors, transmission contractors, or major infrastructure organisations.
