About the role
We are currently recruiting for a Water Treatment Operator to join our Water Supply and Quality team based in Broken Hill.
In this role, you will be required to work a range of shift patterns, including weekends, and participate in a standby roster as required.
As a Water Treatment Operator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and reliable supply of drinking water to Essential Water customers.
You will be responsible for operating, monitoring and maintaining water treatment processes and systems to ensure compliance with water quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Some key position responsibilities include:
Watertreatmentplant operation and maintenance.
Water sampling, analysis,recordingand reporting.
Operation ofpumpingstations,pipelinesandreservoirs.
Monitoring and adjustment of plant and equipment.
Undertaking corrective action associated with plant processes and equipment.




Demonstrate thatWHS standards are being met.
Undertaking operational duties as directed.
About you
We are looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, has a positive "can-do" attitude, is eager to learn, and brings a proactive, solution-focused approach to their work.
The successful applicant will undertake training towards a Certificate III in Water Industry Operations, along with other qualifications and certifications relevant to the role.A current Driver Licence is essential.
Skills/Experience
Experience in water treatment operations, including the operation and monitoring of treatment plants, pumping stations and associated infrastructure.
Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety requirements, with experience in water sampling, testing and analysis.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, record keeping and reporting skills, with experience using relevant computer systems.
Ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams and respond to both planned and unplanned operational events.
