About The Role

Barwon Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Services (MHDAS) is one of Victoria's most innovative and integrated regional services, providing end-to-end care across the lifespan. We provide integrated, recovery-oriented mental health and AOD services to the Barwon region.

Role

We are seeking Consultant Psychiatrists to join our service across a range of clinical areas. Unlike traditional roles, we offer flexible alignment to your subspecialty interests, including (subject to availability):

Adult Community Mental HealthAcute Inpatient ServicesAged PsychiatryYouth and Early InterventionConsultation-Liaison PsychiatryAlcohol and Other Drug (AOD) services

This approach enables you to practice at the top of your scope, while contributing to a system undergoing major co-designed reform under the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act **** (Vic).

Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, evidence-based psychiatric assessment, treatment and care planningDeliver clinical leadership within multidisciplinary teams, supporting safe and effective careContribute to service development,



innovation and system redesign initiativesAct as a delegate of the Authorised Psychiatrist in line with the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act **** (Vic)Support and supervise junior medical staff and trainees (where accredited)Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement and risk management activitiesBuild strong partnerships with consumers, carers and community services

What We Are Looking For

Fellowship-qualified (FRANZCP) or equivalentRegistered (or eligible) with AHPRA for specialist or general registrationCommitted to recovery-oriented, consumer-centred careAble to contribute to clinical leadership and team capabilityMotivated to be part of a service undergoing significant reform and innovation
