Our Head Office is located in Melbourne CBD with further offices located throughout Australia, and Asia, all serving our growing client list of leading residential builders, industrial and commercial development companies, government and urban land authorities, developers, and architects.
We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join our Finance team and play a key role in supporting the financial operations of the business. This position will be responsible for month-end reporting, reconciliations, tax compliance, financial analysis, and partnering with stakeholders across the business to support sound commercial and financial outcomes.
What You'll Be Doing
Prepare financial reports, analysis and audit support while ensuring all deadlines are met
Complete month-end processes across business departments, including journals, reconciliations and reporting
Manage tax compliance activities including BAS lodgements and related financial obligations
Analyse monthly financial performance and investigate variances to budget and forecast
Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts
Support the year-end external audit process
Enhance financial policies, controls and systems to improve efficiency and governance
Partner with business units as a key point of contact on financial matters
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support the financial aspects of business operations
Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve financial performance
Support finance projects and continuous improvement initiatives as required
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
Professional accounting qualification such as CPA or CA preferred but not essential
3+ years' experience in financial accounting or a similar role
Working knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax compliance requirements
Experience working across multiple entities, departments or profit centres
Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines
Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
Experience with NetSuite and Adaptive Planning will be highly regarded
