DALLCON is a family-owned precast concrete company based in Dalwallinu, proudly supplying theCivil, Mining, Agricultural, and Commercialsectors across Australia.
Due to ongoing growth, we are seeking an experiencedReo Fabrication Managerto lead and oversee daily operations of our reo fabrication area at our concrete and precast manufacturing facility.
The Role
Reo Fabrication Manageris responsible for the overall leadership and performance of the Reo Fabrication Department, ensuring the safe, effective, and profitable delivery of fabrication operations.
The role provides strategic direction for production, quality, safety, workforce development, and continuous improvement while ensuring customer requirements, business objectives, and industry standards are consistently achieved.
This is afull-time, site-based rolein Dalwallinu located 240 km north of Perth, operating on a Monday to Friday DIDO roster from Perth.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operational Management
1. Lead the overall performance of the Reo Fabrication Department, ensuring production, quality, safety, cost, and delivery targets are achieved.
2. Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to Fabrication Supervisors, Leading Hands, and the fabrication workforce.
3. Build and maintain a high-performing team through effective leadership, performance management, accountability, and employee development.
4. Foster a positive, ethical, and collaborative workplace culture focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
5. Focus on a "do it once, do it right" mentality
Production, Planning & Coordination
1.



Develop and oversee production plans to ensure efficient utilization of labour, equipment, and resources.
2. Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and other Production teams to meet customer requirements and project schedules.
3. Monitor departmental performance, identify production risks, and implement corrective actions to maintain on-time delivery.
4. Ensure fabrication operations are aligned with approved drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
Quality Management
1. Enforce fabrication standards per approved shop drawings provided.
2. Supervise inspections, dimensional checks, welding quality, and final acceptance of fabricated components.
3. Maintain detailed production, welding, and inspection records for traceability.
4. Ensure any mould build or modification receive a quality check before going to the yard.
Safety & Compliance
1. Champion a robust safety culture through visible leadership and compliance with WHS legislation, company policies, and industry best practices.
2. Ensure fabrication operations are conducted safely and in accordance with regulatory and environmental requirements.
3. Promote proactive risk management, incident prevention, and continuous improvement in workplace health and safety performance.
Financial & Resource Management
1.



Monitor key performance indicators and implement initiatives to improve productivity, cost efficiency, and profitability.
2. Ensure effective management of fabrication equipment, facilities, and resources to support operational requirements.
Continuous Improvement
1. Lead Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to optimise fabrication processes and reduce waste.
2. Identify opportunities to improve workflow, quality, customer service, and operational performance.
Support the implementation of new technologies, systems, and best practices to enhance departmental capability.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fabrication Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 8–12 years' experience in fabrication or heavy manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
Demonstrated experience leading fabrication teams within structural steel, manufacturing, mining, or heavy industrial environments.
Precast experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, reo/steel fabrication, welding technologies, and production planning.
Sound understanding of Australian Standards.
Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets and operational performance.
Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Proven ability to lead change, drive continuous improvement, and develop high-performing teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
