Corescan Powered by Epiroc is seeking aHyperspectral Geologistto join our growing Geoscience team in Perth.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with industry-leading hyperspectral imaging technology, contributing to innovative geological solutions that support mining operations across the globe.
As part of Epiroc OreBody Solutions, you'll collaborate with experienced geoscientists, work with world-class technology, and help deliver advanced geological insights that improve decision-making throughout the mining value chain
About the Role:
You will play a key role in processing, interpreting and delivering hyperspectral geological data for clients across a range of commodities and deposit types.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Processing and interpreting hyperspectral data from drill core, RC chips and other geological samples.
· Performing quality control of hyperspectral data, sensor outputs and associated geological information.
· Producing mineralogical maps, images and interpretation reports.
· Executing data processing workflows from acquisition through to final geological outputs.
· Preparing technical reports, presentations and client deliverables.
· Contributing to the ongoing development of Corescan's mineralogical and spectral interpretation capabilities.
· Working collaboratively with the Geoscience team to continually improve interpretation techniques and geological understanding.
· Communicating findings and technical outcomes with clients.
· Managing and reviewing geological datasets within Coreshed,
Corescan's online drill core platform.
About you:
You'll bring a combination of geological knowledge, technical curiosity and a passion for innovation.
Ideally you'll have:
A degree in Geology or a related Geoscience discipline.
Experience working with hyperspectral methods or spectral data interpretation.
A genuine interest in emerging geological technologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
