About The Role
We are seeking a Data Engineer to support the development, operation and optimisation of the firm's enterprise data platform in Microsoft Fabric.
Working closely with the Senior Data Engineer and supported by the Program Manager, Innovation & Insight, this role contributes to the delivery of scalable, reliable, and trusted data solutions that support analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives across the firm.
The position contributes to analytics, reporting, and the firm's continued growth in AI by creating high-quality, well-structured data assets that are ready for use across Power BI, semantic models, and Microsoft-based AI tools.
Responsibilities
Data Platform & Fabric Foundation
Contribute to the development and ongoing enhancement of the firm's enterprise data platform within Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouses, Warehouses and the Medallion Architecture.
Support the development and maintenance of data ingestion processes for structured and unstructured data sources across the firm.
Ensure data solutions are reliable, maintainable and aligned with business and platform requirements.
Develop and maintain data ingestion, transformation and modelling solutions within Microsoft Fabric and the firm's enterprise data platform.
Build and maintain ETL/ELT processes using Fabric Data Factory, Notebooks, Dataflows and SQL endpoints.
Develop and support solutions using Python & SQL,
following established engineering standards and best practices.
DevOps & Deployment
Contribute to source-controlled development practices and deployment processes across the data platform.
Support CI/CD, release management and environment promotion activities within Microsoft Fabric.
Assist with workspace configuration, monitoring and operational administration activities.
Data Quality & AI Readiness
Contribute to the development and maintenance of trusted, high-quality datasets that support analytics, reporting and AI use cases.
Support the implementation of AI-ready data solutions and emerging capabilities within the Microsoft ecosystem.
Maintain awareness of evolving Microsoft Fabric and AI capabilities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
Tertiary qualification in computer science, information systems, data analytics, engineering, or a related discipline; or equivalent practical experience in data or analytics roles.
Microsoft certifications relevant to data engineering, analytics or Microsoft Fabric (e.g. DP-600, DP-700, DP-800 or similar).
Working knowledge of SQL, including the ability to develop queries, transformations and stored procedures within a relational database workplace.
Experience developing data engineering solutions using Python or other coding languages.
Sound understanding of modern data engineering concepts, including data pipelines, data transformation, relational databases, and analytics platforms.
Understanding of data modelling concepts, including fact and dimension structures, and the use of data for reporting and analytics.
Experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouses, Warehouses, Data Pipelines or related capabilities.
Experience working in a professional service, legal, or consulting environment is valued but not essential.
