Makodah Care is currently seeking reliable, compassionate and experienced Casual Disability Support Workers with flexible availability to join our growing team.
We are looking for dedicated support workers to provide person centred support to NDIS participants in their homes and within the community, helping people achieve their goals, build independence and live life on their own terms.
We are particularly interested in applicants who can offer flexibility across weekday, afternoon, evening, weekend and public holiday shifts.

About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker with Makodah Care, you will provide person-centred support to NDIS participants within their homes and communities.
Supports are tailored to each participant's individual goals, preferences and support needs, with no two days the same.
We are looking for people who are reliable, adaptable and committed to delivering high quality support that promotes independence, inclusion and choice.
Availability may include:
Weekday daytime shifts
Afternoon and evening shifts
Weekend shifts
Public holidays
While flexibility is key, we also strongly value consistency.
Wherever possible, we aim to provide regular and predictable rosters so participants can build trusting and genuine relationships with the people who support them.
Key Responsibilities
Depending on the individual needs and goals of each participant, your responsibilities may include:
Providing person-centred support within participants' homes and the community.
Supporting participants with personal care, daily living activities and household tasks.
Encouraging independence and assisting participants to develop everyday living skills.




Supporting participants to access the community, attend appointments, education, employment and recreational activities.
Assisting with transport where required.
Assisting with meal preparation and maintaining a safe, clean home environment.
Providing medication assistance where appropriately trained and authorised.
Completing clear, accurate and timely progress notes and required documentation.
Following individual support plans, risk assessments, behaviour support plans and organisational policies and procedures.
Supporting participant choice, dignity, privacy, independence and control.
Recognising and reporting changes in a participant's wellbeing, circumstances or support needs.
Maintaining professional boundaries while developing genuine and respectful working relationships.
Working collaboratively with participants, families, support coordinators, allied health professionals and the wider Makodah Care team.

Be reliable, punctual and consistent.
Have flexible availability across a range of shifts.
Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Be patient, respectful and genuinely person-centred.
Understand the importance of participant choice, dignity, privacy and independence.
Be confident completing documentation and following individual support plans.
Be able to recognise and appropriately report changes in participant wellbeing or support needs.
Work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.
Be committed to building genuine,



professional and consistent relationships with participants.

We don't believe in simply filling shifts with whoever happens to be available.
Our lived experience has shown us how important the relationship between a participant and their support worker can be.
That's why we carefully consider personality, interests, communication style, experience and individual support needs when matching workers with participants.
The right match can build trust, confidence and consistency.

Essential Requirements
Applicants must hold or be willing to obtain:
NDIS Worker Screening Check.
Working With Children Check.
National Police Check completed within the last 12 months.
Current First Aid and CPR certification.
NDIS Worker Orientation Module – Quality, Safety and You.
Current Australian driver's licence.
Reliable vehicle with comprehensive motor vehicle insurance.
Australian working rights.
Relevant qualifications such as a Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services or a related field are highly regarded.
We also recognise the significant value of lived experience and practical experience within the disability sector.
