Lead Cyber Security Architect – EL2 36 Month Engagement – Canberra
A major federal organisation is modernising its technology foundations, uplifting cyber capability, and delivering large-scale transformation programs.
We are seeking a Lead Cyber Security Architect (EL2 equivalent) to design secure-by-design environments across critical national systems.
This role is suited to a senior architect who can operate in complex environments, collaborate across diverse stakeholders, and contribute directly to national security outcomes.
The Work
You will design and assure enterprise-grade security architectures across cloud, hybrid, network and monitoring domains.
The role sits within a technology division responsible for enabling frontline operations, modern platforms, and emerging technology adoption.
Key responsibilities
Designing optimal security solutions for large transformation programs
Producing security architecture documentation and guiding approvals through governance forums
Providing expert cyber technical advice across business units
Building strong relationships across teams and partner organisations
Anticipating,
communicating and resolving security issues across systems and services
Mentoring and coaching less experienced staff
Maintaining currency in contemporary security practices and contributing to improved ICT processes
Technical Capability Required
Enterprise security architecture and secure-by-design
Network security architecture
Cloud and hybrid security architecture
Security monitoring and observability
Security assurance, risk and compliance
Location and Conditions
Canberra-based (onsite primary location)
Flexible arrangements may be considered at the organisation's discretion
36 month initial term
Maximum hours: 7.5 per day
