About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Production Superintendent to provide solid operational leadership and ensure safe, efficient and cost-effective production outcomes on site. Reporting to the Project Manager, this role is responsible for leading the production team to deliver safe operations, maintain safe systems of work, achieve operational targets and support continuous improvement across site operations

Key Responsibilities Include

Lead site production teams to deliver safe, efficient and reliable operational performanceEnsure safe systems of work are implemented, maintained and continuously improvedPrepare production schedules, assign priorities and monitor delivery against targetsManage people, equipment and resources to optimise production outcomesTrack operational performance and implement corrective actions where requiredWork closely with engineers and other superintendents to align production plans and plant availabilityMonitor budgets and track expenditureSupport and develop supervisors and leading hands through coaching, feedback and accountabilityPromote employee engagement, teamwork and a strong safety culture across the workforceMaintain positive working relationships with client and supplier representatives

About You





Minimum 10 years' relevant experience within coal miningDemonstrated safety leadership and commitment to safe operationsStrong people leadership, team development and performance management capabilityWell-developed organisational, planning and communication skillsExperience managing production operations in a mining environmentAbility to balance safety, operational and financial objectivesExperience working for a Tier 1 mining services contractor or owner operator will be highly regarded

Blackwater Mine

Located in Central Queensland, and owned by Whitehaven, Blackwater Mine is one of the state's largest coal mines, just 21 km from Blackwater. BUMA Australia has been handling truck and excavator pre-strip operations here since ****, moving over 40 million BCM of material annually.

Our fleet includes Komatsu 930E and Caterpillar 789C haul trucks, paired with Hitachi EX****, Caterpillar ****, and Hitachi EX**** excavators.
