This role is responsible for leading day-to-day transport activities, driving operational efficiency, and delivering exceptional service outcomes for our mining clients.
About the RoleAs a Transport Supervisor, you will lead and manage a small team of Allocators and Operations Support staff, while overseeing the coordination of transport operations.
You will play a key role in improving business performance through system enhancements, process improvements, and cost control, ensuring all operations align with customer KPIs and contractual requirements.This position requires a solid focus on safety, compliance, and performance, while maintaining clear and proactive communication with internal teams, customers, and subcontractors.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead, coach, and support Allocators and Operations Support staff to achieve operational outcomesCoordinate closely with the Yard Supervisor and PUD team to optimise loading and operational efficienciesPlan and schedule transport tasks in line with customer requirements and fatigue management regulationsEnsure compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and all relevant statutory and regulatory requirementsMaintain accurate and timely communication with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholdersPrepare and submit subcontractor invoices within required timeframes to support prompt pricing and cost controlMonitor daily operational costs, including subcontractor and labour hours, to ensure cost efficiencyIdentify, document,
and implement continuous improvement initiatives across operationsManage relationships with key customers, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure high service delivery standardsComplete weekly toolbox talks and ensure they are uploaded into the Safety Management SystemEnsure weekly CRIs are completed and all training requirements are current and compliant
About YouDemonstrated experience in supervising general freight transport operationsStrong leadership capability with proven people management experienceSound understanding of transport compliance, including CoR and fatigue managementExperience working within mining or heavy transport environments (highly regarded)Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage costs and improve operational performanceExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsProficient in Microsoft Office SuiteRelevant industry qualifications such as TLFI****, demonstrating knowledge of heavy vehicle driver fatigue management, and compliance with NHVR regulations
