The Principal End User Computing is responsible for leading Council's End User Computing function, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, customer focused ICT support services that enable staff to work effectively and securely.
Reporting to the ICT Manager, this role oversees the day-to-day operations of the Service Desk, end-user device lifecycle management, user-focused system administration, and the delivery of reliable end-user technology services. The position provides technical leadership, mentors the End User Computing team, and acts as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues while driving continuous improvement, innovation and service excellence across Council.
The objective of the role is to ensure Council's end-user computing environment is secure, reliable, well-governed and aligned with organisational needs. This includes establishing and maintaining service standards, knowledge management practices, asset lifecycle controls, and customer service processes that deliver timely support within agreed service levels.

About YouDegree in Information Technology or at least 5 years' experience in ICT service delivery and support.Demonstrated experience leading an End User Computing or Service Deskteam, including mentoring and staff development.Hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 environments.Current certification (within 5 years) in at least two ICT disciplines (e.g. cybersecurity, networking, infrastructure, end-user computing or service management)



or equivalent industry experience.Strong knowledge of ICT infrastructure, end-user technologies, security, system administration, backup and support practices.Sound understanding of servers, networks, operating systems and cloud platforms (SaaS/PaaS).Ability to work independently and deliver operational outcomes with minimal supervision.Robust analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills with attention to detail.Proven commitment to customer service, including incident and request management.Excellent communication, training and stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non-technical audiences.Ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively to achieve team outcomes.
