We are seeking a highly motivated and commercially minded person to join our team. This is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective purchase of grain, raw materials, vitamins, minerals and feed additives essential to our production operations.
Working closely with the senior management team and suppliers, you will play a key role in maintaining supply continuity, managing stock requirements, and contributing to the ongoing success of the business.

About the Role
Key responsibilities include:
Purchasing and coordinating delivery of grains, raw materials, vitamins, minerals and feed additives
Monitoring market conditions, availability and pricing of ingredients.
Preparing and presenting purchasing and usage information for monthly costing reviews.
Monitoring contracted commodities and reporting usage against commitments.
Negotiating and managing grain and raw material contracts in collaboration with senior management.
Maintaining accurate purchasing records and analysing historical data to forecast future ingredient requirements.
Managing stock levels to ensure continuity of supply and prevent shortages.
Verifying the quality and suitability of incoming ingredients.
Maintaining Approved Supplier Lists, Vendor Declarations and associated compliance documentation.
Completing daily purchase order checks and authorising supplier accounts for payment.
Investigating alternative ingredients and supply opportunities to improve value and operational efficiency.

Availability to take supplier and operational calls outside normal business hours when required.
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Outlook and Word.
Highly Regarded
Previous purchasing, or commodity buying experience.
Experience within agriculture, grain handling, livestock, stockfeed manufacturing or a related industry.
