We manufacture and procure a broad range of products for commercial and residential use such as laminate, engineered stone and veneers so that all Australians can live in beautiful, practical spaces.
We are seeking an experienced and safety-oriented Mechanical Shift Fitter for our plant in the southwest of Western Australia. The Laminex manufacturing plant located near Dardanup offers a brilliant workplace culture and a broad range of industrial manufacturing equipment, making it an excellent choice for individuals seeking a Mechanical Shift Role. Laminex prides itself on its commitment to maintaining highly efficient and reliable assets in its manufacturing processes. As a mechanical shift worker, you will be required to work across all the processing areas and gain valuable experience in maintenance at the forefront of the manufacturing industry. We currently employ a workforce of 185, the majority of whom work on a continuous shift roster.
Where your story begins:
The role of the Shift Fitter is essential for sustaining minimal interruptions in plant operations. They oversee all manufacturing areas, promptly identifying and addressing any issues, and liaising with production and support teams as required. Their key duty is to maintain plant machinery effectively, ensuring optimal uptime.



This position requires a solid understanding of both reactive and preventative maintenance methodologies to manage and resolve potential disruptions to production.
This is a 24/7 operation, involving 4 x 12 hour shifts on (2 x 6am-6pm, 2 x 6pm-6am) and then 4 days off. Uniforms are provided on this site.
The role you'll play:
Key focuses & responsibilities will include:
Safety Culture:
Pro-actively demonstrate a personal commitment to safety and our PROTECT safety culture
Prioritisation of Tasks:
Assessing the urgency and impact of equipment failures to prioritise repair tasks effectively, ensuring critical areas are addressed first.
Troubleshooting and Diagnosis:
Skilfully diagnosing the root causes of equipment failures to implement effective repair solutions promptly.
Repairs and Maintenance:
Conducting repairs on machinery and equipment to restore functionality, including pneumatic, hydraulic, pumps and conveyers. Complete necessary maintenance tasks including PM inspections, corrective works and dayshift support.
Workplace Culture:
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with both Production and Maintenance teams
About You:
Trade Certificate - Maintenance Fitter
Able to handle changing priorities
Able to work both supervised and unsupervised
Able to work independently
Able to manager shift work
Manufacturing or Processing experience
Confined space entry, EWP, Working at Heights and Rigging ticket
