The Role & Project

MACA are seeking a Learning and Development (Training) Officer for a permanent, full-time basis, working a unique and engaging roster, 4:3, 4:3, 8:6, FIFO roster to the Gruyere gold mine.

The Gruyere Gold Mine is an open pit operation located within the Yamarna greenstone belt approximately 200 kilometres east of Laverton in Western Australia.

The Training Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the planning, delivery, and tracking of training for the on site operations. This role oversees training schedules, manages internal and external training activities, and ensures compliance with company and client requirements.

Key Result Areas Include

Develop, maintain, and manage the annual training calendar, including internal, external, and OEM programsCoordinate all aspects of training delivery – scheduling, liaising with facilitators, and confirming attendanceManage logistics for training sessions, including venues, materials, and catering (supported by the Training Administrator)Support new project start-ups by coordinating training and onboarding requirementsLiaise with external training providers for bookings, purchase orders, and invoicesConduct and maintain Training Needs Analyses (TNA) for relevant areasMonitor training compliance and ensure required records are accurate and current in LAAMPGenerate and analyse reports to track completion, compliance,



and expiry trendsSupport and prepare documentation for internal and external auditsBuild and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, including operations, safety, and HR teamsLiaise with external vendors, RTOs, and clients to align training activities with business and contractual requirementsOversee the integrity of data within the Learning Management System (LAAMP), ensuring accuracy and completenessIdentify opportunities to improve processes, documentation, and administrative efficiency

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE***** or equivalent) requiredDemonstrable mine site based experience, ideally in the same or a similar position.Certificate IV in Business Administration or equivalent qualification desirableDemonstrated experience coordinating training or learning activities within a mining, civil, or heavy industry environmentExperience developing and managing training calendars and coordinating internal/external training eventsStrong understanding of compliance and training governance requirementsProficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Learning Management Systems (LMS)Experience in reporting, auditing, and maintaining training records
