Carters Mechanical Repairs is a successful family business offering servicing and repairs to all makes and models. In addition to routine maintenance we take on unusual and interesting tasks making our workshop unique in the skill set required and learned on the job. Our specialty is fleet management which requires a wholistic approach to our customers needs and offers diverse opportunities. We pride ourselves in good customer service, mechanical knowledge and workmanship.

About the role
As a qualified mechanic, the successful applicant will be expected to not only inspect, service & diagnose customers vehicles but will also have the opportunity to broaden their customer service skills and use previous experience & knowledge to help train apprentices.
A minimum of 1-2 years of post-qualification mechanical experience is required for this position.
Hours of work are 8am-4:30pm Monday to Friday.
Overtime Available .
Salary is negotiable depending on applicants experience and knowledge.

Skills and experience
The successful applicant must:
* Hold Certificate III in Automotive (Mechanical - Light Vehicle)
* Hold a current Australian drivers licence;
* Speak English well;
* Good work ethic & motivation;
* Good personal grooming & presentation
* Australian citizenship is required for this position
The successful applicant should also be able to demonstrate:
* Friendly, outgoing and enthusiastic personality;
* Good communication with customers and other staff members;
* The ability to work independently but also work well with a team and assist with training apprentices;
* Good knowledge and skills in fault finding and vehicle electronic diagnosis;
* Intermediate vehicle electronic diagnosis skills are required for effective troubleshooting
* Supporting the workshop manager in maintaining high standards, achieving good output and managing fleet vehicles.
* Able to drive a manual vehicle;
* Willingness to increase your knowledge & experience, take direction & accept feedback;
Previous experience working on locally driven makes and models, four wheel drives, light commercial and marine is beneficial but not essential.
