Legeneering is an established Western Australian engineering and fabrication company delivering specialist services across the Defence, Marine, Energy and Industrial sectors.
Operating from our Henderson production facilities, our team supports major projects involving marine mechanical installation, vessel construction and sustainment, rotating equipment, piping systems, fabrication and complex mechanical works.
As our Defence, Marine & Industrial Services portfolio continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced supervisor capable of leading our people and supporting the successful delivery of current and future projects.
The role
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, as the Leading Hand provides practical leadership and technical support to workshop personnel, coordinates assigned work activities and ensures fabrication is completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality requirements, company procedures and project schedules.
Your responsibilities may include:
Supporting the Workshop Supervisor in the safe and productive operation of the workshop.
Coordinating assigned personnel and daily fabrication activities.
Ensuring work is performed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and procedures.
Monitoring productivity, workmanship and project progress.
Reporting technical, safety, quality and schedule issues promptly.
Maintaining accurate fabrication and project documentation.
Providing practical leadership, mentoring and trade support.
Ensuring materials,



equipment and consumables are used appropriately.
Promoting a safe, professional and productive workshop environment.
What we are looking for
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Relevant fabrication or mechanical trade qualification.
Current Australian C Class Driver Licence.
Minimum five years relevant trade experience in fabrication, welding or heavy industry.
Previous experience as a Leading Hand, senior tradesperson or in a similar leadership role is desirable.
Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and coordinate workshop personnel.
Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
Experience in structural steel and piping fabrication.
Oil and Gas, Marine, Defence or Resources industry experience is desirable.
High-risk work licences relevant to the workshop environment are desirable.
Participate in company QHSE programs.
Maintain all required trade competencies, licences and certifications.
We are not looking for someone who simply allocates work and monitors the clock.
