Applied Machinery is a leading supplier and service provider of industrial machinery across Australia. As we grow our service capability, we're looking for an experienced Service Technician to join our Melbourne team, specialising in Yawei fiber laser cutting systems.
This is a field-based role — you'll be on-site with our customers commissioning new equipment, carrying out preventative maintenance, and diagnosing and resolving breakdowns. You'll be a key technical contact for our customers and a core part of our service team.
What you'll be doing
Installing and commissioning Yawei fiber laser cutting systems at customer sites
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and software issues as they arise
Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance
Providing remote and on-site technical support
Maintaining service records and coordinating parts with suppliers
What we're looking for




We're primarily looking for someone with fiber laser or CNC machine service experience — but if you have strong capital equipment or industrial machinery service experience and the technical fundamentals, we want to hear from you.
Trade qualification in Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field
Experience servicing laser cutting, CNC, or industrial capital equipment
Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
Familiarity with PLC/CNC control systems
Able to work independently on customer sites
Experience with Yawei, Trumpf, Amada, Bystronic or similar laser platforms (NC/G-code or XML) is highly regarded
