Field Service Technician – Rebar & Steel Machinery

Our client is Australia's leading provider of rebar and steel bending machinery, proudly Australian-owned and operated since ****. With a strong reputation for excellence, they specialise in machinery installation, servicing, maintenance, and spare parts distribution across Australia and Current Zealand.
Due to consistent growth over the past 15+ years, an exciting opportunity has become available for an experiencedField Service Technician to join their dynamic team. You'll play a key role in installing and commissioning state-of-the-art machinery, delivering outstanding technical support and customer service.
About the Role:
Working both independently and within a supportive team, your key responsibilities will include:
Installing and commissioning new steel and bar bending machines
Training operators on safe and effective machine use
Conducting fault finding, machine cleaning, repairs, and rebuilds
Writing detailed service reports and recommending future maintenance or parts
Maintaining clear communication with clients and internal stakeholders
What We're Looking For:
We're seeking a self-motivated individual with a background in manufacturing or as a field technician, ideally with experience in mechanical,



electrical or hydraulic systems.
You will also need to demonstrate:
Certificate III or IV in Engineering or relevant trade qualification
Willingness and flexibility to travel for up to 12+ days at a time
The ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Solid fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Proven mechanical aptitude and hands-on repair experience
A strong commitment to customer service
Excellent communication and personal presentation
A proactive approach to promoting service and parts sales
Initial training will be provided at the Melbourne head office and through shadowing experienced technicians at local installations.
