Lead – Influence – Deliver
This is a genuine senior opportunity for an experienced estimator looking to lead the pre-contract's function, influence business direction, and implement systems and processes that drive success. Working closely with senior management, you'll play a key role in securing mining construction and NPI projects valued up to $50 million across regional Western Australia.
About the Role
Reporting to senior leadership, you will take ownership of the estimating and pre-contracts function, managing projects from initial opportunity through to successful handover.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead and manage the estimating and pre-contract's function.
Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets and competitive tender submissions.
Review project drawings, specifications, scope requirements and construction methodologies.
Develop pricing strategies, project methodologies and delivery programs.
Manage subcontractor and supplier engagement and pricing.
Identify project risks, opportunities and commercial considerations.
Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and key stakeholders.
Support tender negotiations and contract award processes.
Work closely with delivery teams to ensure effective project transition.
Implement and improve estimating systems, processes and reporting.
Mentor and support estimating team members.
To be successful, you will have:
Proven experience in estimating mining construction, civil construction or NPI projects.
A strong understanding of construction methodologies, project delivery and site operations.




Experience preparing tenders and estimates for projects ranging from smaller works through to $25+ million.
A trade, supervisory or site-based background with the ability to translate practical construction knowledge into accurate estimates.
Robust capability across cost planning, pricing, subcontractor engagement and commercial evaluation.
The confidence to lead client discussions, attend meetings and build strong stakeholder relationships.
Experience working with major mining clients including Rio Tinto, BHP, FMG or similar Tier 1 resource companies (preferably)
The ability to work autonomously, improve processes, mentor others and drive a high-performing estimating function.
