About us
We are an established fresh-produce and horticultural production business based in Hillier, South Australia, growing and supplying vegetables. We are seeking an Irrigation Technician to install, maintain and optimise irrigation and fertigation systems.
Remuneration & hours
Salary package:
from $71,550 per annum plus superannuation
(paid in accordance with the applicable Award; commensurate with skills and experience)
Full-time, ongoing position
Hours: 38 ordinary hours per week, averaged over a 4-week cycle (152 hours per 4 weeks), plus guaranteed overtime of approximately 8 hours per week (paid at overtime rates) — around 46 hours per week in total.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities
Install, operate, maintain and repair irrigation and fertigation systems
Monitor water application,
pressure and soil moisture; adjust systems for optimal use
Diagnose and repair faults in pumps, lines, valves and controllers
Program and manage automated irrigation controllers
Maintain irrigation records and water-use compliance
Support water-efficiency and system-improvement initiatives
Follow WHS requirements and use personal protective equipment
Skill & Experience
About you
Relevant experience installing / maintaining irrigation systems (or a relevant certificate)
Practical mechanical and problem-solving skills
Able to work outdoors across a range of conditions
Able to work independently and in a team
Reliable and safety-focused
