The Opportunity
Our Lady of the Visitation School is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented School Finance Officer to join our Administration and Finance team. Reporting to the Business Manager, this role plays an important part in supporting the school's day-to-day financial operations, with a focus on accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, bank reconciliations, school fee management and month-end finance processes.
This full-time position works 37.5 hours per week across 43 weeks of the year, providing an excellent opportunity to enjoy a school-based work calendar while contributing to a welcoming and supportive Catholic school community. Located in Taperoo on the Lefevre Peninsula, within metropolitan Adelaide, the school is easily accessible from Adelaide's western, northern and coastal suburbs.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
Processing payroll and maintaining employee payroll records in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
Managing school fee administration, including fee statements, receipting,
payment plans and follow-up of outstanding accounts.
Completing bank reconciliations and assisting with end-of-month reconciliations and financial processing.
Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting statutory reporting requirements.
Providing finance and payroll administrative support to the Business Manager and responding to finance-related enquiries.
About You
We are seeking someone who:
Has demonstrated experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and bank reconciliations.
Possesses sound knowledge of accounting principles and financial administration practices.
Has strong proficiency in finance systems, payroll systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Civica, Preceda and Excel.
Demonstrates excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Exhibits strong communication, customer service and teamwork skills.
Is committed to maintaining confidentiality and supporting the Catholic ethos and values of the school.
Previous experience working in a school finance environment will be highly regarded. Candidates with an understanding of school fee administration, education funding, and school-based finance processes will be viewed favourably.
