Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced
Operations Manager
to join our leadership team.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible for leading our field operations, ensuring projects are appropriately resourced, supporting our Construction Managers and Supervisors, and driving operational excellence across multiple civil construction projects.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will work closely with project teams, HR, WHSEQ and senior management to ensure our workforce, equipment and resources are effectively managed while maintaining our commitment to safety, quality and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
Leading day-to-day operational delivery across multiple civil construction projects.
Planning and allocating labour, subcontractors and operational resources.
Forecasting workforce requirements and assisting with project planning.
Leading weekly operational meetings and driving accountability across project teams.
Managing fleet utilisation in collaboration with the Fleet Operations Manager.
Developing Construction Managers, Supervisors and field personnel through coaching and mentoring.
Supporting recruitment, workforce planning and employee performance management.
Working closely with the WHSEQ team to maintain a strong safety culture.
Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency,



productivity and project outcomes.
Building robust relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
Demonstrated experience in an Operations Manager, Construction Manager or Senior Project Leadership role within civil construction.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
Excellent resource planning and workforce management experience.
Sound understanding of civil construction methodologies and project delivery.
A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
The ability to balance operational priorities across multiple projects.
A proactive, solutions-focused approach with excellent organisational skills.
