Kerr Engineering is a well-established and rapidly growing Western Australian fabrication and general engineering company seeking an experienced
Welding Supervisor
to join our team.
Based in Henderson within the Australian Marine Complex, we've built a solid reputation for efficiency, reliability, quality and workmanship. Our busy workshops handle structural steelwork, platework, equipment fabrication, machining and repair servicing.
About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll oversee day-to-day welding operations across the workshop, ensuring all work is completed safely, to specification, and to the highest quality standard.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise day-to-day welding operations to ensure compliance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
Ensure correct welding parameters, techniques, and sequences are followed
Ensure proper use of preheat, inter-pass temperature control, and heat input
Verify that only qualified welders are assigned to welding tasks
Monitor welder performance and identify poor performance trends
Control the issue and distribution of welding consumables
What You'll Bring




Proven experience in a supervisory role within fabrication/engineering
Solid welding experience with sound knowledge of welding standards
Strong communication skills
A self-motivated, can-do attitude
Ability to work autonomously
Current WorkSafe-approved forklift licence
High level of commitment and reliability
Commitment to general upkeep of machinery and workshop
The following qualifications would be highly desirable:
AS **** Cert 10, AS **** Cert 10, or IWS
(International Welding Specialist).
