Job Description
Sr. Visual COBOL Developer
Key Responsibilities
Provide production support for enterprise applications, ensuring high availability and timely issue resolution.
Manage and resolve production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes through problem management.
Handle service requests in line with agreed service levels and operational procedures.
Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex application and database issues.
Collaborate with business users, technical teams,
and other stakeholders to ensure seamless application support.
Monitor application performance and recommend improvements to enhance system stability and reliability.
Participate in application maintenance, defect fixes, and minor enhancements.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, and knowledge articles.
Ensure adherence to ITIL processes and organizational support standards.
Required Skills & Experience
Hands-on experience in Visual COBOL development and support.
Experience working with Enterprise Server.
Strong knowledge of Oracle Database.
Proficiency in SQL/PLSQL.
Experience with UNIX Shell Scripting.
Hands-on experience in Incident Management, Problem Management, and Service Request Management.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in a production support setting.
Excellent stakeholder management and client-facing communication skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
