is seeking an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic
Registered Nurse
to join our
Planned Care Perioperative and Anaesthetic clinic team
in this
permanent,
part-time
role working
32 hours per week
based at
South Brisbane.
The Perioperative Medicine and Anaesthetic Clinics are dedicated to delivering exceptional, patient-centred care and enhancing the surgical experience by ensuring patients are thoroughly assessed and optimised prior to their planned procedure. The Clinic Nurse plays a pivotal role in coordinating the patient journey through the perioperative and anaesthetic clinics, providing evidence-based education, information and support to ensure patients are well prepared for elective surgery. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, the Clinic Nurse facilitates safe, timely and effective care, helping to optimise patient outcomes and deliver a seamless surgical pathway.
This role will see you demonstrate your commitment to providing quality clinical care by coordinating the patient journey through the perioperative medicine and Anaesthetic clinics. The clinic nurse ensures that pre-operative patients requiring Perioperative and Anaesthetic review prior to procedures have all essential information prior to the appointment date. The clinic nurse is integral to the delivery of care within the clinics to ensure the patients receive comprehensive assessments, education and appropriate referrals are in place to optimise the surgical pathway.

About you
To be considered suitable for this role you must have:
Current AHPRA registration (no restrictions) with 2+ years' experience in a surgical nursing environment
Clinical competency and the ability to maintain the highest standards of nursing practice
Excellent knowledge and assessment skills in surgical nursing
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
High level communication skills when liaising with patients, families and staff within professional, legal and ethical parameters
Exceptional time managementHigh level competence in using electronic information systems such as patient information systems, procedural booking system, Outlook and Microsoft Excel
An existing understanding or ability to acquire knowledge in applying Elective Surgery Waitlist governance and business rules
The successful candidate will be hard working, enthusiastic and able to show initiative. You will be approachable with a mature and confident attitude and have the ability to work and achieve results independently.
