We're looking for an experienced Azure Cloud Systems Engineer to design, deliver, and support cloud environments.
You'll contribute across the full lifecycle: new project deployments, on‐premises to cloud migrations, and ongoing operational support.
You'll work closely with delivery teams and stakeholders, while also being comfortable owning work independently and driving outcomes with minimal guidance.

Key Activities and Responsibilities
Design and implement Azure cloud solutions aligned to project requirements, security, and operational standards.
Deliver new cloud deployments (greenfield) including network, identity, compute, storage, and platform services.
Plan and execute migrations from on‐premises environments to Azure (rehost/refactor/replatform where appropriate).
Support new and existing application workloads deployed in Azure: monitoring, alerting, incident response, and problem management.
Build and maintain reliable, scalable, and cost‐aware cloud environments.
Implement and support Microsoft Entra ID capabilities including identity lifecycle, RBAC, Conditional Access, MFA, and privileged access patterns.




Configure and maintain Microsoft Defender for Cloud including security posture management, policy recommendations, regulatory/compliance reporting, and workload protections where applicable.
Develop infrastructure as code (IaC) and reusable templates/patterns (e.g., Terraform, Bicep/ARM).
Implement automated deployment pipelines and release processes (e.g., Gitlab, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
Implement and maintain backup, DR, patching, and configuration management practices.
Troubleshoot performance, connectivity, and service issues across cloud components.
Produce clear documentation and handover materials for operational teams.
Key Knowledge and Experience
5+ years of hands‐on experience in Azure cloud computing
Solid knowledge across common Azure services (e.g., VNets, NSGs, Azure Firewall, VMs, Storage, Key Vault, Monitor/Log Analytics).
Azure Landing Zones / CAF patterns, governance (Policy), and management groups/subscriptions design
Hands‐on experience with Microsoft Entra ID, DNS, DHCP, including secure access controls and identity governance practices.
Robust troubleshooting capability across networking, identity, compute, and platform services.
Proficiency in server operating systems (Windows Server or Linux)




Strong interpersonal skills coupled with a demonstrated customer service commitment and the ability to prioritise competing demand
Strong problem‐solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Collaborate effectively with other IT personnel to optimise system performance, facilitate changes to our IT landscape, and implement new technologies that align with organisational goals and enhance resident capabilities.
