About the role
Based onsite five days a week, you will manage the operation of the campus ICT network and end-user computing environment, act as the Level 2/3 escalation point for the site and oversee and mentor a Level 1 onsite technician.
This is a hands‐on role with plenty of variety. One minute you might be working on server or network infrastructure, the next you are rolling out devices or helping a staff member get their classroom technology working. You will have the autonomy to run the site day to day, with the wider Klearnet team behind you when you need it.
Key responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day operation of the campus ICT network and associated services
Oversee, mentor and coordinate the work of a Level 1 onsite technician
Provide advice and assistance on maximising ICT operations across the campus, including acquisition, installation, operation, maintenance, repair and replacement of equipment
Provide effective and efficient support to staff and students, resolving problems with computing facilities while maintaining a strong customer focus
Support the campus community with technical advice, instruction and assistance with electronic equipment, in line with site and manufacturer policies, guidelines and network standards




Assist with training staff on the effective application of ICT tools
Carry out regular preventative maintenance, along with routine and emergency repairs, across ICT facilities and associated equipment
Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to ICT support and infrastructure
Communicate with various stakeholders, including site leadership, vendors and external support teams, and provide technical advice when required
About you
Strong technical knowledge of server hardware, configuration and networking peripherals
A high level of understanding of PC desktop and laptop systems, Apple iPads and printer support
Solid understanding of Local Area Networks and Wide Area Networks
Experience using remote support tools to manage servers and workstations
Sound working knowledge of network security and security protocols
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong client focus
Robust analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research, identify and apply creative solutions
Able to work as part of a team, with the confidence to guide and develop a junior technician
Previous experience in a school or education environment will be highly regarded
Requirements
A current Working with Children Check (paid Blue Card), or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement
Willingness to complete site‐specific inductions and certifications required to administer the campus network
