ABOUT THIS ROLE
We are currently looking for an experienced Defence Project Manager with maritime experience to deliver complex projects on a secure, long-term Defence sustainment contract.
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of multiple projects from planning through to delivery, ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule and within budget. Working closely with Defence customers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders, you'll lead project teams while driving strong commercial, operational and client outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the end-to-end delivery of multiple Defence projects.
Lead project teams to deliver safe, high-quality and commercially successful outcomes.
Develop and maintain robust relationships with Defence customers, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
Oversee project schedules, budgets, forecasting and resource planning.
Monitor project performance, identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Manage contract administration, project reporting and change management activities.
Coordinate procurement activities and ensure materials and resources are available to meet delivery requirements.
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across project delivery.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline.
Proven experience delivering complex projects within a Defence maritime environment.
Strong commercial acumen with experience managing project budgets, forecasting and financial performance.
Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
Experience managing client relationships and delivering high levels of customer satisfaction.
Excellent planning, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
Strong understanding of contract administration, risk management and project controls.
Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
