Allied Health Technical Advisor
Initial contract until 31 December ****, with likely extension
$***** per hour + super
Locations available across Richmond, Geelong, Queensland, Western Australia and South Australia

We are seeking experienced Allied Health professionals to join a Federal Government organisation as Allied Health Technical Advisors.
This role will provide specialist clinical and technical advice relating to complex and sensitive cases. You will support consistent, evidence-based decision-making, interpret relevant legislation and policy, and provide guidance on appropriate supports to achieve positive participant outcomes.
Key responsibilities
Provide high-quality clinical and technical advice on complex or novel cases and support requests.
Apply professional expertise to support consistent and appropriate decision‐making.
Provide written and telephone advice while maintaining accurate and detailed records.
Work closely with internal stakeholders, delegates, partners and service providers.
Manage sensitive conversations relating to support and funding decisions.
Coach and mentor team members, providing guidance on professional and technical matters.
Contribute to policy development, practice guidance and broader service improvements.
Manage competing priorities and deliver accurate work within tight timeframes.
About you
You will bring strong clinical judgement, critical thinking and communication skills, along with the ability to explain complex information clearly and sensitively. You will be comfortable working autonomously,



managing multiple priorities and collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders.
You will also demonstrate:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Sound critical thinking and decision‐making abilities.
The ability to build positive working relationships and guide junior staff.
Strong time management, accuracy and attention to detail.
Flexibility to respond to changing priorities and support different functions.
Discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.
Competency using Microsoft Office and other relevant systems.

Specialist Behaviour Support
Medico‐Legal Allied Health
Audiology
Applicants must be eligible for relevant AHPRA or Allied Health Professions Australia recognition or registration, where applicable. Registered Nurses must be eligible for AHPRA registration.
Desirable experience
Experience within disability, hospital or aged care environments.
Demonstrated clinical experience.
Experience providing high‐quality clinical or technical expertise at an individual and systemic level.
Professional leadership, coaching or mentoring experience.
Experience promoting consistency and quality in professional decision‐making.
Experience managing team deliverables and competing priorities.
