With a growing team and an exciting line-up of projects coming up, we are looking for an experienced Works Manager to join the MPA team.
The Opportunity
Due to continued growth, we're looking for an experienced
Defects & Maintenance professional
to join MPA as a
Works Manager
.
You'll manage defect rectification, maintenance and small works projects across our commercial fit-out portfolio, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining strong safety standards, and delivering high-quality outcomes on time and within budget.




Success in this role comes from staying organised, communicating effectively, building strong client relationships and taking ownership from start to finish.
We're looking for someone who is proactive, solutions-focused and thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.
Monday - Friday: 7:00am – 3:00pm
Saturday work: 3 days per month.
Your Responsibilities
Manage defect liability period (DLP) works from start to finish.
Coordinate maintenance requests and small commercial works.
Plan, schedule and manage subcontractors across multiple sites.
Provide technical guidance and practical solutions on-site.
Price minor works and coordinate quotations.
Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication.
Ensure all works are completed safely, on time and within budget.
Uphold MPA's high standards of workmanship and customer service.
Maintain accurate reporting and project documentation.
Champion MPA's Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) standards.
About You
We're looking for someone with the right attitude as much as the right experience.
You'll be someone who is respected by trades, trusted by clients and known for getting things done.
You Will Bring
Experience managing commercial defects, maintenance or small works.
A trade background with building trades highly regarded.




Excellent organisation and time management skills.
Strong communication skills—you know how to build relationships and keep people informed.
A polished and professional presentation.
Confidence managing multiple priorities without losing attention to detail.
Sound judgement, common sense and the maturity to make decisions independently.
Grit, resilience and accountability—you don't wait for problems to become someone else's.
A genuine commitment to safety, quality and customer service.
Required
Cert IV in Building & Construction
Experience with Procore, 1Breadcrumb or similar construction software
White Card
First Aid Certificate
