Role Description
The Sprinkler Fitter is a full-time, on-site role based in Sydney, NSW, responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fire sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial, and residential properties. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting plans and specifications, measuring and cutting pipe, assembling and fitting sprinkler components, and using appropriate hand tools and equipment safely. The role involves performing routine inspections, testing systems for proper operation, identifying and rectifying faults, and ensuring compliance with relevant fire safety codes and standards. The Sprinkler Fitter will work closely with supervisors, other trades, and clients to schedule work, provide clear updates, and maintain a safe, tidy work environment.
Qualifications




Candidates should possess solid knowledge and practical experience with sprinkler systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair of sprinklers for fire protection.
Candidates should possess skills in working with pipe systems, including measuring, cutting, threading, and fitting pipes in accordance with technical drawings and standards.
Candidates should possess proficiency in the protected and effective use of hand tools and related equipment required for sprinkler fitting and pipe work.
Candidates should possess an understanding of life safety principles, fire protection standards, and regulatory compliance relevant to sprinkler systems.
Relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship as a Sprinkler Fitter or Fire Protection Plumber, and appropriate licenses or certifications as required in NSW.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications, with strong attention to detail and safety.
Experience working on-site in construction or maintenance environments, with the ability to work at heights and in confined spaces where required.
Good communication skills, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a focus on customer service.
