About the Role
Westcoast Disability Services WA is currently seeking dedicated and experienced Disability Support Workers (Full Time - 38 hours per week) to join our growing team in Perth.
As a Registered NDIS Provider, we are committed to delivering person‐centred, high‐quality support that promotes independence, dignity, inclusion, and choice. You will work closely with participants to assist with daily living, community participation, personal care, and achieving individual goals in accordance with their NDIS plans.
The successful candidate will provide compassionate support while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and participant wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver person‐centred disability support tailored to each participant's individual goals and needs.
Assist participants with personal care, mobility support, meal preparation and daily living activities.
Support participants to access community activities, appointments, employment and social engagement.
Assist participants in developing independent living and life skills.
Implement individual support plans and positive behaviour support strategies where applicable.
Administer medication and provide complex care supports where appropriately trained.
Maintain accurate case notes, incident reports and participant documentation.
Work collaboratively with participants, families, support coordinators and allied health professionals.
Promote participant dignity, independence, inclusion and choice at all times.
Comply with NDIS Practice Standards, organisational policies and workplace health and safety requirements.
Requirements
Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability), Aged Care or a related qualification.
Minimum 1 year of relevant disability support full time experience.
Experience supporting participants with complex physical, psychosocial or behavioural support needs is highly regarded.
Knowledge or experience in manual handling, PEG feeding, hoist transfers, medication assistance or other high‐intensity supports is advantageous.
Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
Working with Children Check (where applicable).
Current Australian Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle preferred.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem‐solving skills.
Strong commitment to person‐centred care and participant outcomes.
