About the Role:
We are seeking a qualified tradesperson ready to transition off the tools into a vital coordination and compliance role. This position involves managing sample collection of building materials, soils, and water for potential hazardous materials, laboratory liaison, and attending sites for validation assessments and writing clearance certificates.
Key Responsibilities:
Collect samples of building materials, soils, and water from various sites in accordance with required standards and protocols
Identify and sample potentially hazardous materials safely and in compliance with regulations
Transport and deliver samples to designated laboratories
Coordinate with laboratory personnel to ensure timely processing and results
Review laboratory reports and analysis results for hazardous material identification
Prepare and issue clearance certificates based on test results
Maintain accurate records and documentation of all samples and certificates
Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and regulatory requirements
Essential Requirements:
Qualified tradesperson with relevant trade certification
Valid driver's license (essential for sample transport)
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols
Good organizational and time management skills
Basic computer skills for record keeping and certificate preparation
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Willingness to undergo training in hazardous materials sampling procedures
Desirable Skills:
Understanding of workplace health and safety regulations
Previous experience with compliance documentation
Knowledge of sampling procedures and protocols
Awareness of common hazardous building materials (e.g., asbestos, lead paint, contaminated soils)
