About Canungra Health Centre
Canungra Health Centre is located a short drive from the Gold Coast and on Kokoda Barracks. This is where officers and soldiers in the Australian Army Intelligence Corps complete their initial employment training, and all-corps training is conducted throughout officer and soldier careers.
It was established in **** for Army jungle warfare and infantry training. It was closed from *********, however reactivated during the Vietnam War. Services provided include primary medical, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health and pharmaceutical services.
Standard operating hours of the centre are generally ********* Monday - Friday
What you'll do
Deliver high-quality mental health care to Defence members.
Conducting fitness-for-duty assessments and pre/post-deployment care.
Undertaking assessments, interventions, managing medications, formulating treatment and care plans for individuals and group education sessions.
Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical environment where patient wellness is paramount.
What You Bring
Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
One of the following: ACMHN credentialed, Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing, Mental Health trained nurse / UK trained undergraduate Mental Health Nurse
Minimum two years' Post RN general registration experience within last five years in mental health within a Primary Healthcare Setting or Specialist Mental Health Setting.
Comprehensive assessment skills and experience in 'Focussed Psychological Strategies' and 'Psychological Therapy' as per Medicare Schedule.
Current CPR certification (HLTAID009).
Australian Citizenship required to obtain Baseline Security Clearance.
Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care.
