We are seeking a skilled and motivated Plant Mechanic to join one of our local client sites in Culcairn, responsible for maintaining and repairing Council plant and equipment. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive workshop environment with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and teamwork.

About The Role

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will be responsible for servicing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of plant and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

Service, repair, and maintain Council plant and equipmentCarry out maintenance and repairs on additional plant as directedMaintain a clean, safe, and well-organised workshop, ensuring tools and materials are readily availableAttend and respond to plant breakdowns in the field when requiredProvide input and advice on plant purchasesEnsure all plant is equipped with complete operating, maintenance, start-up, and shutdown proceduresSupport and train staff in the correct operation and maintenance of plantSupervise and mentor an Apprentice MechanicAssist with the design and development of approved workshop projectsPerform other duties within your skill set as directed

About You





Relevant trade qualification in plant mechanics or similarStrong diagnostic and problem-solving skillsAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamCommitment to safety and high-quality workmanship

Licences & Tickets

MR Licence (Essential)LF (Forklift) Licence (Preferred but not essential)Front-End Loader Ticket (Preferred but not essential)
