What's the role? An exciting opportunity to provide Health, Safety, and Security (HSS) support and guidance, and integrate national risk management practices. Your work will embed our safety mission and overarching strategy, focusing on keeping people safe, promoting health and wellbeing, and adding value to our people and business. Reporting to the HSS Manager for Publishing Operations, this position is based at our Adelaide Print Centre, and will connect with our Waymouth Street offices and the broader HSS team around the country. In This Role, You Will Provide trusted, consistent and specialist health, safety and security advice across editorial, corporate and production business areas; covering topics including driving risk, personal safety, plant-related and manual handling risks, and psychosocial support.Actively support business leaders in HSS performance, ensuring reporting and insights to enhance overall safety measures.Undertake HSS risk management activities, playing a key role in advising and coaching on hazard identification, risk assessments, and the development of elimination or control monitor compliance and controls, and participate in verification, assurance, inspection and review activities as required.Actively manage self-insurance and review injury claims, handling tasks such as providing status updates and estimates in collaboration with our insurer and injury management provider.Coach and support employees in using our electronic HSS management software to report hazards and incidents, conduct audits, perform inspections and investigations, and manage corrective action plans.
Who are you? As a minimum, you will hold a Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety,
along with 3 years of experience in an industrial-based business that includes office/administration areas.You must bring proven experience in managing safety risks across comparable production, operations and manufacturing environments.A natural collaborator, you will embody the qualities of a true health and safety business partner.A team player, it is crucial that you can work effectively within both local and remote teams, and make a positive impact on projects and safety cultures.You should showcase outstanding listening skills, patience, and the ability to influence others while maintaining will be able to work from multiple locations within Adelaide and be able to travel interstate when necessary. Whilst we expect your work hours to primarily be during the day, we are looking for someone with the flexibility required to be available evenings and nights to align with business operations and shift patterns.
