We are a well-established Australian-based recruitment company undergoing rapid expansion byaccommodating professionals in key positions to support overall operations.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive
Accountant
with strong payroll knowledge and a solid grounding in general accounting. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across both payroll compliance and core accounting functions, contributing to smooth financial operations in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring compliance with legislation, awards, EBAs, superannuation, and taxation requirements.
Maintain accurate payroll records; process leave, overtime, and termination calculations.
Prepare and reconcile payroll-related journals, general ledger accounts, and month-end payroll reports.
Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing, payment runs, and debtor follow-up.
Assist with cashflow monitoring, bank reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Support month-end and year-end financial reporting processes.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and statutory obligations.
Liaise with internal teams, external auditors, and government agencies as required.




Key Requirements
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline (CPA/CA qualified or working towards highly regarded).
Proven experience in both payroll processing and general accounting functions.
Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, taxation, and superannuation.
Experience with accounts payable, receivable, reconciliations, and cashflow management.
Proficiency in accounting and payroll systems (Xero, MYOB, SAP, or similar).
Advanced Excel skills with the ability to manage and analyse large datasets.
Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to confidentiality.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
