GC Wind Services and GC VivaBlast Australia are growing businesses supporting the renewable energy and industrial services sectors across Australia. Our operations involve multiple projects, suppliers and delivery locations, requiring accurate and well-controlled purchasing processes.
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Purchasing Officer to coordinate purchasing activities across both businesses.
About the Role
The Purchasing Officer will manage the purchasing process from approved request through to delivery and receipting.
Reporting operationally to the Warehouse Manager and working closely with the Finance Manager, Operations team and project personnel, this role will ensure materials, consumables, tools and equipment are ordered accurately, competitively and in accordance with company approval procedures.
This is a key coordination and control role suited to someone who can manage competing priorities, follow up incomplete information and ensure purchasing documentation remains accurate and traceable.
Key Responsibilities
Receive and review purchasing requests, ensuring the correct company, project, cost allocation and required approval have been provided.
Obtain quotations and compare supplier pricing, availability, freight costs and delivery timeframes.
Raise accurate purchase orders before orders are placed or commitments are made.
Place approved orders and provide suppliers with the required purchase‐order and delivery information.
Track outstanding orders and proactively follow up suppliers regarding availability, backorders and delivery dates.
Coordinate with warehouse,



operations and project teams regarding stock requirements and upcoming project needs.
Ensure delivered goods are checked and receipted promptly against the relevant purchase order.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies involving purchase orders, deliveries, quantities, pricing, damaged goods or supplier invoices.
Maintain complete and accurate purchasing records, supplier correspondence and supporting documentation.
Assist with supplier onboarding and ensure required supplier information is obtained and maintained.
Source alternative suppliers and negotiate competitive pricing where appropriate.
Support stock monitoring, replenishment and inventory record accuracy.
Assist with maintaining accurate records for tools, equipment and assets purchased.
Provide Finance with complete purchasing and delivery information to support accurate invoice processing and project costing.
Follow company procurement procedures, delegated approval limits and internal controls.
Identify purchasing delays, recurring supplier issues and opportunities to improve purchasing processes.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory coordination or a similar role.




Strong experience raising and managing purchase orders.
A clear understanding of purchasing approvals, supporting documentation and audit trails.
Robust organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines.
High attention to detail, particularly when reviewing pricing, quantities, project coding and delivery information.
Confidence following up suppliers and internal staff for missing or incomplete information.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to work independently while coordinating closely with warehouse, operations and finance teams.
A practical, proactive and process‐driven approach.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using purchasing, inventory or ERP systems.
Desirable
Experience within construction, industrial services, mining, renewable energy or project-based operations.
Experience purchasing for multiple projects, sites or related business entities.
Experience using Xero, Gojee or another ERP, purchasing or inventory management system.
Exposure to inventory, warehouse or asset‐management processes.
Forklift licence, although this is not essential.
