Responsibilities:
Work directly with clients to frame ambiguous problems into explicit, well scoped questions
Translate complex economic and quantitative modelling outputs into insights and recommendations clients can act on
Prepare and deliver polished reports, analysis and presentations to clients and senior stakeholders
Identify the decision an analysis needs to support, not just respond to the brief as given
Support commercial or market due diligence work as part of broader transaction processes
Collaborate with modelling and technical colleagues to refine assumptions and ensure outputs meet client needs
Build and maintain client relationships, using networking opportunities to understand emerging needs
Stay current on industry trends, regulation and methodologies relevant to the sector
Required Experience:
3+ years professional experience in energy markets, economics, market analysis or a related infrastructure sector
Demonstrated market modelling experience, including scenario or reference case style analysis
Experience supporting transactions or commercial and market due diligence work is highly regarded
Genuinely strong presentation and public speaking skills, with the ability to communicate complex analysis clearly to non-technical audiences
Experience framing ambiguous problems into concise scoping documents or research summaries
Knowledge of Australian energy markets, power system operations, policy and regulation highly regarded
Understanding of core economic principles such as short run and long run marginal cost and supply-demand dynamics
Working knowledge of Python or R is a plus but not essential for this profile
Qualifications:
Tertiary degree in economics, applied mathematics, engineering or another highly quantitative discipline
Postgraduate qualification in economics or a related quantitative field highly regarded but not required
