Reporting to the CEO and working in a tight-knit team; this is a diverse role that blends day-to-day accounting tasks with financial management, reporting and governance and support for organisational governance.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
The purpose of this role is to ensure the organisation has the financial clarity, systems and operational foundations required to effectively deliver its mission.
Working closely with the CEO and a Board committee; you'll play a critical role in supporting both the current operational needs of the organisation and contributing to future growth, ensuring financial integrity and sustainability.
You'll be responsible for day-to-day financial management while supporting sound governance, risk management and organisational operations.
You'll be responsible for:
day-to-day accounting ie accounts payable, receivable, reconciliations and general ledger management
accurate tracking of funding and grant acquittals
preparing monthly management reports for the CEO and quarterly Board reports




presenting financial results and insights at Board and Committee meetings
leading the annual budgeting and financial planning process
monitoring performance, managing forecasting and providing financial analysis to inform decision‐making
overseeing year-end accounts, audit processes and statutory reporting
managing taxation obligations and investment reporting
supporting strategic plan delivery through financial insight and performance tracking.

a Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related field
professional certifications eg CPA, CA
experience managing finance in a not-for-profit organisation including ACNC reporting
demonstrated experience managing day-to-day accounting tasks in Xero
demonstrated proficiency in financial management, audit and accounting practices
exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
experience working with boards, auditors and company secretaries
experience with Salesforce or similar CRM systems
experience contributing to organisational policies, controls, risk management or compliance frameworks (desirable)
experience working through systems change, including embedding new financial or business systems and improving operational efficiency (desirable).
