We are currently seeking experienced
Mechanical Fitters
to join a well-established team working within the
commercial marine industry
. This is an excellent opportunity to work on the maintenance, overhaul and installation of mechanical systems aboard commercial vessels.
Candidates with previous
commercial marine experience
are highly regarded; however, trade-qualified Mechanical Fitters from other heavy industrial sectors are encouraged to apply.
About the Role
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for a range of mechanical maintenance and installation tasks, including:
Removal, overhaul, repair and installation of propulsion systems, pumps, engines, shafts and associated mechanical equipment.
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Precision fitting, alignment and assembly of mechanical components.
Working safely both independently and as part of a cooperative team.
Maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety across all tasks.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter.
Previous commercial marine experience (preferred, ***** months minimum).
Strong mechanical fitting and assembly experience.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Hydraulic experience (highly regarded).
Welding experience or capability (advantageous).
A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
The ability to work autonomously with excellent attention to detail.
