Job Description
Position Summary
The Plasterer (Wall and Ceiling) is responsible for installing, repairing, and finishing
plasterboard and other wall and ceiling systems across residential and commercial
construction projects to achieve high-quality finishes and compliance with building
standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Measure, cut, and install plasterboard sheets to walls and ceilings.
Fix battens, framing supports, and suspended ceiling systems.
Apply plaster compounds, jointing materials, and finishing coats.
Tape, sand, and finish joints to achieve smooth surfaces.
Repair damaged plasterboard, ceilings, and wall finishes.
Install decorative mouldings, cornices,



and feature ceiling components.
Ensure completed work meets company quality standards and project requirements.
Maintain safe work practices and comply with WHS regulations.
Coordinate activities with supervisors and other trades on site.
Qualifications
Relevant trade qualification, such as an AQF Certificate III with at least two years of on-the-job training, or an AQF Certificate IV in plasterer or a related trade.
Alternatively, at least three years of relevant hands-on industry experience may be accepted in place of formal qualifications.
Skills & Requirements
Proven experience in applying, finishing, and repairing plasterboard, composite boards, and acoustic tiles on walls and ceilings.
Ability to measure, cut, and fix plasterboard sheets to metal or timber frameworks.
Proficiency in mixing and applying finishing coats, jointing compounds, and textures.
Solid spatial awareness and ability to work accurately from blueprints and technical drawings.
