About the role
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced person that has a strong background in the maritime industry as well as a commitment to safety and excellence.
You will be responsible for assisting with the secure transportation for Marine Pilots transferring to and from vessels and special personnel on board Darwin Port Operations vessels. You will also assist with the maintenance of Darwin Port Operations vessels.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role you will need to have:
the ability to work a rotating roster including weekends, public holidays and nightshifts.
experience in personnel transfers at sea
experience in marine plant and machinery operation
current first aid certificate
Certificate of Safety Training or equivalent
excellent communication and teamwork skills
hold a current Master Class 5 and Marine Engine Driver 2
short range VHF certificate of proficiency
practical understanding of weather patterns affecting the Northen Territory
excellent navigational, vessel handling and crew management skills
All applicants must hold a NT driver's License, hold or be eligible to obtain a Maritime Security Identity Card (MSIC), will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment and will be subject to Drug and Alcohol testing in accordance with Company policy.
