An established not-for-profit organisation is looking for an experienced Asset Manager to lead the transformation of its asset management function.
With an ageing portfolio and increasing demand for long-term planning, this newly created opportunity will see you review existing assets, strengthen systems and processes, and develop an asset management approach that supports informed investment decisions for years to come.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys building capability, improving the quality of asset data, and developing practical strategies that balance risk, compliance and financial sustainability.
The Role
Reporting into the executive team, you'll take ownership of reviewing the current asset portfolio and establishing the foundations of a contemporary asset management function.
You'll assess existing asset information, identify gaps, develop lifecycle and renewal plans, and implement systems and processes that provide greater visibility across the portfolio.
Working closely with finance, operations and external contractors, you'll help shape future capital investment priorities while ensuring assets continue to support quality service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Review and assess the existing property and asset portfolio
Develop and implement an organisation-wide asset management strategy
Build lifecycle plans and long-term capital renewal forecasts
Improve the quality and integrity of asset registers and supporting data
Establish fit-for-purpose asset management policies, frameworks and processes
Identify asset risks and prioritise investment based on condition and criticality

Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to align asset planning with operational needs
Support future capital works planning and business case development
Drive continuous improvement across asset management systems and reporting
About You
You're an experienced asset management professional who enjoys creating structure where it doesn't yet exist.
You understand that good asset management is about more than maintaining buildings, it's about enabling organisations to make informed decisions that maximise the life of their assets while supporting the people who rely on them.
You'll bring both strategic thinking and a practical, hands-on approach, with the ability to influence stakeholders and deliver meaningful change.
Experience Required
Demonstrated experience managing property or infrastructure assets across complex portfolios
Experience developing asset management strategies, frameworks and lifecycle plans
Strong understanding of capital planning, renewal forecasting and asset risk
Experience improving asset data, systems and reporting
Knowledge of asset management principles and best practice
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Experience within aged care, community housing, healthcare, education or another purpose-driven organisation will be highly regarded
Why Apply?
Opportunity to build an asset management function from the ground up
Influence long-term investment across an important community portfolio
Join a values-driven organisation making a genuine difference
Collaborative executive team committed to investing in their assets
Market-competitive salary, salary packaging and flexible working arrangements
